The impact

Real results. Lasting change.

Dramatic increase in trust: across the HR Leadership Team

One renewed HRLT Charter: defining collective purpose, accountabilities and ways of working

Stronger enterprise influence: across culture, people, performance and business priorities

  • Group CHRO and HR Leadership Team (HRLT)
  • influence upwards to the Group Executive Committee
01The challenge

Moving from functional excellence to collective enterprise leadership.

As Ma’aden grows at extraordinary pace, its HR Leadership Team has a critical role in enabling the organisation to perform and transform. The opportunity was to move beyond a collection of highly capable functional leaders towards a genuinely interdependent enterprise team: able to influence upwards at Group Executive level, work horizontally across organisational boundaries and collectively shape decisions on people, culture, performance and business priorities.

02What we did

Recontracting how a leadership team leads together.

CorporateDNA worked with the Group CHRO and HRLT to surface the dynamics that were limiting collective performance: challenging assumptions, breaking through false harmony and creating greater candour around the issues that mattered. Together, the team built a renewed HRLT Charter, clarified collective versus functional accountabilities and established new ways of working. A critical part of the journey was creating a new leadership contract: what the team needed from its leader, what the leader needed from the team, and what members would hold one another accountable for.

03What changed

More trust. Less territory. Greater collective influence.

The shift was visible in the room and beyond it. Trust strengthened significantly, difficult issues were surfaced earlier and with greater candour, and leaders began moving from representing their individual functions to taking greater ownership for the whole. The renewed charter and leadership contract created clearer mutual accountability and stronger peer-to-peer challenge. The HRLT increasingly operates as a more horizontal, collaborative and interdependent team, better positioned to influence enterprise decisions and enable Ma’aden’s growth agenda.
